Romania is the regional leader amongst CEE countries and one of the most promising emerging markets for wind energy investments in Europe according to Romania Wind Market: Outlook 2013 - 2018. Romania will need additional 20 GW electricity generation capacity by 2035 in order to meet the increasing demand for electricity, to de-carbonize its electricity sector and to replace aging power generation facilities.
